Farigliano - Cuneo

L’enorme successo delle ultime edizioni ha portato gli organizzatori a preparare anche quest’anno (e siamo così giunti alla quinta edizione) la fiabesca “Mostra Mercato Presepi dal Mondo” nel caratteristico paese di Farigliano. Nel più tradizionale spirito natalizio c’è assolutamente da sottolineare che l’intero ricavato sarà devoluto al mantenimento delle case-famiglia fondate a Fortalesa in Brasile da un indomito missionario,Don Renato Chiera,il quale da tempo provvede ai bambini di strada. Nell’epoca della globalizzazione dall’accento più edificante, sarà possibile ammirare nonchè acquistare presepi provenienti da ogni angolo del pianeta, persino da paesi come la Colombia, l’Indonesia,la Bolivia,la Birmania,il Ruanda; natività che suscitano una commossa ammirazione per l’originale qualità e varietà dei materiali impiegati. Ovviamente saranno altresì presenti i caldi presepi polacchi e russi,alcuni dei quali creati con legno o con la splendida tecnica biedermeier.

Per la meraviglia dei piccini: piccolissimi presepi;per gli adulti intenditori: spettacolari creazioni d’autore, quest’ultime di molte dimensioni (dalle piccolissime alle impegnative grandezze). Ed infine artisti ed artigiani locali faranno a gara nel proporre innumerevoli decorazioni per gli alberi di Natale quali globi innevati o benevoli angeli da appendere.

Since more than 30 years in Massa Lubrense (Naples province) the Feast of the Lemons is taking place. This year the event will be from 21^st to 24^th July 2010. The Sorrento peninsula is a location where every summer a variety of feast dedicated to plenty of saints are taking place. Among those there is also the Feast of the Lemons which is organised by the municipality and has its 31^st anniversary this year. This event is a result from the rich tradition in cultivating, growing and the use of the citrus fruits.

The program of the festival this year is full with diverse activities:

• guided visit at the agricultural firm “The Jesus” where the visitors could follow the techniques and the construction of bowers and “pagliarelle” for the protection of the lemon trees.

• “Story of the plants and flowers of our gardens” presented by Maria Damiani and the department of Unitre in Massa Lubrese.

• Visit of “Il giardini di Vigliano”, an agricultural guesthouse, where the preparation of dishes on lemon base could be seen.

• “Villa Angelina” where you could taste flavoured oils.

• Visit of the agricultural firm Il canneto where you can evidence the typical production of Limoncello di Sorrento

• Archeoclub: a technical convention organisated by Settore Agricoltura della Regione Campania, followed by a music spectacle and tasting of different typical local products in the Villarca zone.

• Voting for the best wines and oils from the zone.

• Visit of the agricultural firms Gargiulo Ferdinando and Carlo Russo in Sant’Agata on Due Golfi where there will be local bread and oil tasting.

To summarize: four days dedicated completely to the lemons and all the lemon products.
